Yes! We have wireless internet. Melfort Cottage is located in the heart of old Oakville on a quiet, tree-lined street. The white flowering gardens have been featured in magazines, HGTV and are visited by garden tour groups. Check out Canadian Gardening magazine, Special Issue 2010. A white theme continues indoors with many Nantucket influences such as wicker furniture, nautical paintings and antiques. Beds are a focus. Everything has been done to make these as comfortable as possible. They have pocket coil mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets and pillowslips, goose down duvets and cotton quilts. If you have allergies, I will do all I can to accommodate your needs. Melfort Cottage was architecturally rennovated ten years ago and includes guest bedrooms on the private lower level. If you reserve for more than one night you receive a reduction of $10 for each night you stay. Reduced rate is $120 (double) or $100 (single). We are located just a short walk from the Oakville Hospital.
Historic/Heritage Details: Located a delightful five minute walk from Oakville's historic harbour in Lake Ontario, Old Oakville is also home to many wonderful restaurants, pubs, and cafes. Home decor/antique shops and specialty clothing stores and even specialty pet stores abound.
Please enquire about garden tour packages to both outstanding private gardens and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
We connect with several walking trails - Heritage, Waterfront and TransCanada are one block away and the Bruce Trail and re-nowned golf courses are a short drive. I will be happy to assist you with reservations at Glen Abbey or any other golf course. To access information about tourist activities visit www.oeda.oakville.on.ca
