The park is a hiker?s paradise, with more than 1,600 kilometers of trails offering everything from a one-hour jaunt up a mountain to a month long backcountry excursion over valleys, mountains, forests, glaciers, meadows and rivers.

The communities of Banff and Lake Louise have grown from summer resort towns to year-round attractions drawing visitors from around the globe. Yet just a short walk from downtown you can take a quiet stroll along the banks of the Bow River .
