This area is framed by communities to the North of Toronto, then along the 401 through Oshawa, and further east to Port Hope and north to Peterborough.
Historical towns coexist along side high tech emerging cites. This is an industrial, commercial and suburban area, almost all within a short drive of Toronto. Many area residents work in Toronto, but enjoy their residential life a short commute away. These towns and cities have all the shopping, cultural, recreational facilities one could ask for.
At the east end of this area, Peterborough is conveniently situated in one of the lovelier lake areas in Canada and is home to Trent University.
Rich in nineteenth century character, the Municipality of Port Hope is nationally acclaimed for its historically preserved main street and for its wealth of beautifully restored early homes.
