Welcome to an 1840 home. Throughout the years this home has seen many changes. Today, you see and feel the charm and warmth of yesteryear with the conveniences and comforts of today. The "cottage style" casual elegance beckons you to rest, relax, and rejuvenate in the lounge, on the patio by the pond, or in the garden. Sit back, read the daily paper, or try your skills at a board or card game. Courtesy bicycles available, or securely store yours in "the old stone shed".

Special diets are easily accommodated.
A warm welcome and ideas to enhance your visit come from a host who has resided in the area for more than thirty years. Reservations/gift certificates can be arranged.

Historic/Heritage Details: A House with a History
Parliament Cottage B&B circa 1840 is centrally located in the part of the old town formerly known as "the coloured village".
Land deeds and documents with Upper Canada seals from the 1850 period are on display.
Original pine floor boards, transom window, mortise and tenon joints, and wooden pegs still grace the home today.
The patio and pond are edged by "the old stone shed".

Breakfast Provided: Full. Each morning you are greeted by fresh, seasonal Niagara fruit, a buffet of hot and cold beverages, fruit juices, yogurts, cereals and homemade granola. Fresh from the oven daily baking, and a tempting hot brunch-style entree are served to you amidst china, crystal & silver. An interesting sweet treat compliments the final cup of coffee.
Area and Landmark: Niagara-on-the-Lake, Cenotaph (Clock Tower).
Travel Time to Landmark: 5-10 minute walk, 2-3 minute drive.
Air Conditioned: Yes.
Adult Oriented: Yes. Well-behaved children of any age are welcome if the family is booking all guest rooms. My home is not equipped with any child-oriented activity areas. Please inquire.
Smoking: No. Smoking is permitted in the garden if agreeable to other guests using the area.
Pet Policies: Pet(s) in Residence. If you are travelling with a pet, inquire about the pet policy.
Three resident cats are expected to remain in the owner's quarters, but, being cats they do not always maintain a perfect score!

Reduced rate given to those travelling single.
ONE NIGHT WEEKEND STAYS IN HIGH SEASON MUST ADD AN ADDITIONAL $15.
TWO NIGHTS WILL BE REQUIRED DURING SOME PERIODS.
A deposit of $50 per room per night is placed on your charge card at the time of booking. Balance is payable at departure. NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED on one night bookings.
Your deposit is non-refundable unless notification of cancellation is received at least 14 days prior to the reservation. Notification of cancellation must be received in phone conversation. Your deposit will be refunded, less an administration fee of $25 per room. Cancellations within 48 hours of arrival date, will be charged full rate unless room can be re-booked.

Check In/Out Conditions: Check-in time is flexible.
You and I will mutually agree upon a check-in time at the time of booking. The agreed upon time will be respected by both parties. A phone call indicating changes in arrival time is required if plans change.
You are always welcome to arrive earlier than the agreed upon time, however, there will be no guarantee of someone at home.
Check-out time is 11 a.m. or by special arrangement. |
