Comfort in the oldest dwelling in Ontario that survived the War of 1812.
The Historic Peter Secord Inn c.1782 is located in Nia-on-the-Lake between old town and Niagara Falls, offering guests the convenience to easily travel around the area. We are close to wineries, Shaw Festival Theatres, golf course,Bruce Trail,fine dining,many attractions and USA.
This Loyalist home which is the oldest in Ontario has been lovingly restored, the fireplaces, french doors, trim & dining room cupboard are original.
The guest bedrooms are large with wonderful comfort beds, ensuite, a/c, t.v. well furnished with period antiques enhanced by the original heartpine floors.
Two suites are on the upper level, reserved exclusively for guests with private entrance and one terrace level suite (currently being restored) with ensuite/fireplace/t.v.
Each morning enjoy an Early American style breakfast,including juice, seasonal Niagara fruits, breads, sweets/preserves and main course.
We are licensed by the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, member of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Bed and Breakfast Association.

Historic/Heritage Details: American Loyalist Peter Secord built the house in 1782, he was the first Loyalist to be granted crown land upon which he grew crops for the troops following his retirement from military service.
His niece was heroine Laura Secord.
The structure is stone, was a field hospital during the War of 1812 and survived the burning of St. Davids in 1814. The original heart pine floors, fireplaces, cupboard and interior trim have been restored.
The Inn is a delight in all seasons and the land is still used for growing crops and herbs for our guests to enjoy!
